Amsterdam was a very relaxing weekend in the most beautiful hotel, called the Dylan. We had the most beautiful hotel room, and by the end of our trip, we were ready for some good relaxing time. Amsterdam is a small city compared to London and Paris. We were able to see the whole city by boat in the canals. It was beautiful weather, very relaxing and an enjoyable time for us! Below are the boys on the boat, enjoying the ride while Michelle and I chit-chatted (as usual!)
This gives you an idea of what this quaint city looks like from the canals!
Bike riding is crazy in Amsterdam! Everyone uses bikes, and there are special bike lanes everywhere in the city. If you accidentally walk in the bike lane, it is bad news for you! You will get rung at immediately by someone on their bike. Needless to say, that only happened once or twice before we learned our lesson!
My favorite part of the trip was seeing Anne Frank's house, where she hid after the Nazi's invaded Germany and the Netherlands. We got to see how they lived and documentation from the time. It was so sad and real to be there and really brought a new perspective to how much history is filled in these older cities.
